MAKE YOUR NEXT ANSWER COUNT

How to play our Krillion game

Read the category and type one answer that fits its exact wording. There are no multiple-choice options: you supply the name yourself. An accepted answer ends the question and earns 10, 30, 60 or 100 editorial points. A rejected entry leaves the question open, so you can correct it or try another answer while time remains. Seven questions complete a daily or classic round.

The normal timer gives you 25 seconds per question. For a slower session, switch on relaxed play before starting. This removes the countdown without changing the accepted answers or their points. A skip earns zero; in a daily round you can still continue to the remaining questions. You do not need an account, a download or a subscription.

Daily, classic and unlimited: choose your round

The daily challenge gives everyone the same seven prompts for a UTC date. A new set arrives at 00:00 UTC. From October 9, 2026, the daily selection contains three Standard, three Advanced and one Specialist question. Each category appears once in a ten-day rotation, with nine daily sets between repeats. Earlier dates retain their original published questions.

Select “Random classic round” on the game screen for another seven-question session. Classic uses the same difficulty mix from our 70-category practice library, which currently contains 730 accepted answers. Difficulty describes the category as a whole; it does not change the point value of an individual answer.

For a longer session, open Krillion Unlimited. You begin with three lives. Skipping or timing out costs a life, and completing each seven-question stage restores one, up to three. The run ends at zero lives or when you choose “Finish run.” A shuffled cycle covers the library before repeating; unlimited means repeatable play, not an infinite collection of different questions.

Read the boundary before choosing an unusual answer

Being unusual only helps when the answer belongs to the requested set. A prompt about Canadian provinces excludes territories. A prompt about SI base units asks for units such as metre or second, rather than a derived unit such as newton. Familiarity with the wider subject is useful, but the narrower wording decides which answers count.

Start with a candidate you are confident about, then search another part of the category if time allows. On a geography question, moving across a map mentally may bring another place to mind. On a naming question, recalling a sequence can be more useful than repeatedly trying the first name you remember. The daily hints offer a starting point without displaying the whole answer list.

Points, depth and answer explanations

Our four point tiers are editorial game choices: Familiar earns 10, Good find 30, Uncommon 60 and Deep cut 100. They are not measurements of how often real players submit an answer and do not reproduce the original Krillion scoring system. The game awards points automatically. A higher tier reflects our chosen list, not a claim that an answer is objectively rarer for every audience.

Each point moves your diver ten metres deeper. A perfect seven-question round scores 700 points and reaches 7,000 metres. After answering, use “Next question” or press Enter to continue. The explanation below the buttons identifies a useful distinction about the category and links to a factual source. You can also reveal the complete accepted list to compare alternatives.

Capitalisation, spaces, punctuation and accents do not affect matching. Selected aliases are supported, as are unambiguous one-letter errors or adjacent-letter swaps in longer names where the category permits them. Short or easily confused terms need stricter spelling. When a correction is accepted, the feedback shows which name counted. If a valid answer is missing, “This answer should count” opens an editable email draft; it does not change your score or send anything automatically.

Review a date and return tomorrow

Use our answer pages after playing to review each question’s alternatives, point values and explanation. The daily archive links to earlier game, hint and answer pages, beginning October 6, 2026. These resources describe Little Fun Games’s independent edition; they are not the original game’s daily solutions.

Finish all seven daily questions during their UTC day to mark your local completion calendar. Any score counts, with or without the timer. The results show your current and best streak, a countdown to tomorrow’s set and the reset time in your own time zone. Archive replays are available for practice but do not fill missed streak days.

“Copy result” creates a spoiler-free summary with your score, depth and a link to the game. It marks hints and untimed play, which helps friends compare similar attempts. Up to 100 completed sessions stay in this browser; completion dates are stored separately. Nothing is synced between devices, and clearing browser data removes those records.

Questions about this edition

Is this the official Krillion game?

Can I play without a timer?

Yes. Turn on relaxed play before starting for an untimed session.

How are scores calculated?

Accepted answers earn 10, 30, 60 or 100 editorial points. These are game-design choices, not live popularity measurements.
