POKE SURVIVOR / FIELD GUIDE

Poke Survivor Evolution & Skills

A stronger move and a different Pokémon form are separate things. Use this guide to find the upgrade your attack needs, then check the level-up choices in your run.

How move evolution works

The project’s move reference describes a level-five attack plus a matching upgrade requirement. When the conditions are met, a golden evolution choice becomes available. Having a high-level Pokémon is not a substitute for improving the particular move. Check the move itself and the named prerequisite.

For example, an Ember build looks for Power, while Bubble uses Sprint. Those are different plans even though both eventually produce a stronger attack. Before choosing a stat card, compare it with the move you are actually developing.

Why an evolution may not appear

  1. Inspect the move level. Character level and attack level are not interchangeable.
  2. Match the prerequisite by name. A different boost does not satisfy the required card simply because it seems related.
  3. Check whether the move has an evolution. The table includes non-evolving moves so an empty recipe is visible.
  4. Read the current game card. If it disagrees with this dated table, use the game’s wording and report the mismatch with the move name.

Avoid treating the order of cards as a guaranteed route. Plan a useful attack first, then take the matching requirement when it is offered. A stalled plan should not prevent you from choosing something that keeps the current run alive.

Pokémon forms and permanent upgrades

The published roster lists familiar evolutionary relatives as separate partners, and the game’s upgrade panel says upgrades apply to the selected Pokémon. This is different from the move recipes above. Do not use main-series evolution levels or stones as if they were verified rules for this fan game.

If you want to compare a newly unlocked form, find its own row in the roster table. Check its current upgrades and available attacks before assuming that a higher base-stat tier makes it an immediate replacement. The starter guide lists the actual opening moves of initial partners.

Build a small, readable plan

Choose an opening attack, write down its requirement, and identify what you need before it becomes ready. Try that plan for one run. If you fail before the evolution, ask whether you needed safer positioning or an earlier defensive choice rather than treating the final recipe as the entire build.

For a new player, one understandable recipe is enough to start learning the system. A list containing every possible evolution is a reference to return to, not a requirement to memorise before pressing Play.

Before you play

Does every move evolve?

No. The checked project table lists 64 moves, of which 59 have an evolution recipe. The remaining five have no listed evolution.

Does levelling a Pokémon automatically evolve its moves?

No. The move itself needs the required level and named upgrade condition, followed by the evolution choice.

Does Charmander automatically become Charizard?

This guide does not establish an automatic partner-evolution mechanic. The published roster treats those forms as separate partners; do not apply main-series evolution rules without checking the current game.

Which source should I trust if the recipe changes?

Use the current in-game card and the project’s own move reference. This page records a dated check rather than a live feed.
