FOUR LETTERS. LITTLE DETOURS.
Poople.
One letter at a time. Find your way to POOP.
Independent practice by Little Fun Games
Loading the word ladder…
A small word, a clever route.
Poople is a four-letter word ladder: begin with a word, change exactly one letter, and keep going until you reach POOP. Every intermediate step must be a valid word. You cannot add a letter, drop one or shuffle their positions. There is no timer in this practice game, so take a moment to spot a connection before submitting.
Our independent version opens with OMEN so you can try the search that brought you here. Choose a new ladder when you want another starting word. Your accepted moves and hints stay in this browser, making it easy to leave a route unfinished and come back. No sign-up is needed. A private window or clearing your browser data removes that saved progress.
How to play Poople-style practice
- Look at your current word and the target. Type another four-letter word that changes exactly one position.
- Press Enter or choose Add word. A rejected word does not advance the ladder; the feedback explains what to change.
- Use Undo to rethink a step. Ask for a hint if you are stuck, or reveal a route to study the connections.
- Reach POOP, compare your moves with this dictionary’s shortest route, and copy a result if you want to share it.
Original daily answers and practice use different rules
This is not an embedded copy of the original game. We wrote the interface and use a filtered four-letter subset of the public-domain ENABLE word list. That broader practice dictionary can accept words the original does not. A shorter route here therefore does not beat the original game’s minimum. For the historical OMEN puzzle, read the verified nine-move original solution. For a current source check, open Poople daily answers.
A useful way to think about word ladders
Work backwards as well as forwards. A word close to POOP may help you recognise which letter positions you need to build towards. Repeated letters can look limiting, but common plural forms and short verbs sometimes provide bridges. A step that moves away from the target can still be necessary: shortest routes do not always improve the visible letter match at every turn.
Hints and reveals are marked in the result so your shared attempt tells the full story. There is no global leaderboard and no claim that a practice score came from the official daily puzzle. If a word seems surprising, compare the dictionary note before assuming the route is wrong. Read about our games and local data, or view the word-list credit and licence.
Good questions.
Is this the official Poople game?
No. This is Little Fun Games’s independent word-ladder practice. The original daily game is at poople.io. Our practice uses a separate word list, so accepted words and shortest routes can differ.
How do I play this word ladder?
Change exactly one letter at a time. Every step must be an accepted four-letter word. Reach POOP in as few moves as you can. Press Enter or use Add word to make a move.
Why is the practice route shorter than the original answer?
The practice dictionary is a filtered four-letter subset of the public-domain ENABLE list. The original game accepts a different set of words. Minimum move counts only apply to the dictionary used to calculate them.
